William Jesse Hyde

April 16, 1944 - January 28, 2022

William Jesse Hyde, 78 of West Union departed this life on Friday, January 28, 2022 at his residence. He was born on Big Battle Rd. on April 16, 1944 a son of the late Enoch Stephen Hyde Sr. and Doris Mae Downs Swiger. His wife Mary Ellen Williamson Hyde survives. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Rita Irene Lowe Hyde, Salem, four daughters, Angela Campbell (Jeff), Big Springs, WV, Wendy Cavrich (Steve) Fairmont, Teresa Hyde and companion Johnnie Jenkins, Bridgeport, Rita Jozwick (Edward), Salem, step daughter, Mary Jane Hunt, NC, three sons, William Jesse "Billy" Hyde Jr.(Tressa), Parkersburg, Justin Hyde, West Union, Thomas Lowe, Ormond Beach, FL. two step sons, Charles Hunt, A.J. Hunt, both of West Union, twenty grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and one on the way, sister, Delores Gaskins, West Union, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Marie Hyde, three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Hyde was a retired truck driver. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran serving in the Viet Nam Era. Bill enjoyed trading, hunting, watching the deer and playing with his feline friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed by all. The family will receive friends in the Spurgeon Funeral Home on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Hyde family.
