Trella Mae Dotson, 93 of Rt. 2 Salem (Pike Fork Community) departed this life on Friday, May 15, 2009 in the Golden Circle Nursing Home. She was born on January 11, 1916 on Big Battle a daughter of the late Lloyd W. and Fannie L Swiger Cain. On January 18, 1938 she married Joseph Wayne Dotson who preceded her in death on September 13, 1988. Surviving is three daughters, Faye Morgan and husband Jerry, Pike Fork, Sue Gruetter and husband John, Big Battle, Jeanie Taylor and husband Randy, Big Battle, one son, Rendal Joe Dotson and wife Sandy of Pike Fork, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one brother Grover Cain, Salem. One son, Wayne J. Dotson Jr. one daughter, Francis Marie Dotson, two great grandsons, Matthew Scott Underwood and Curtis Scott Lagasse, two sisters, Ruby Cain and Mary Underwood and two brothers, Walter and Sylvester Cain preceded her in death. Mrs. Dotson was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was a homemaker and enjoyed piecing quilt tops and crocheting. Trella was a graduate of Bristol High School and was a member of the Welcome Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2009 in the Christian Church at Center Point at 11:00 AM with Pastor Don Flanigan officiating. Mrs. Dotson will lie in state one hour prior to her service. Interment will follow in the Christian Church Cemetery, Center Point.
