Silvanus A. Perine, 86, of Arnolds Creek Rd., West Union departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born on August 17, 1927 in West Union a son of the late John H. and Olga Britton Perine. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Fuson Perine. Surviving is two daughters, Susan Prutsman and fiancé Donald Addlespurger, Greenwood, Eva Gawthrop and husband Tim, Salem, one son, Gerald A. Perine, Greenwood, 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, two brothers, Drex Perine & Glade Perine both of West Union. One sister and three brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Perine was a retired truck driver and dozer operator for Brown Stone Quarry. He enjoyed antique shows, county fairs, Civil War Re-enactments. Silvanus was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00PM with Pastor David Simons presiding. Interment will follow in Ruley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 after 11AM until time of service.
