Kathy was a homemaker and a devoted mother. Her purpose was caring, protecting, and loving her family and friends unconditionally. Her one true passion was praising and serving her awesome God, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kathy wanted to attend any Revival or Church, near or far, because the house of the Lord was her home. She proudly and loudly praised God with both arms in the air. She loved fried chicken, a thigh preferably. She requested her companion's homemade sausage and gravy over pancakes, eating it all the night before leaving no possibility of enjoying it the next morning. Also, indulging in sweet, cold watermelon like it was the last piece. She enjoyed beans with cornbread regardless of the consequences later on. She loved her sweets, with gumdrops, cheese puffs, and 3 musketeers bars first. The highlight of each day was seeing for two grandkids smiling, whether it was sneaking them some candy or playing hide and seek. She loved playing cards with Ralphie and Eddie (Spades, Canasta, Rummy), and more recently, her two grandsons, Bentley and Landyn. She didn't mind losing to the boys, especially Bentley, because of the joy it gave him when he would tell Papaw "I beat Mamaw in a game of War." Her selflessness was her way of life, to everyone she encountered. Her daily work for the Lord was calling her brothers Tim and Bob, her sisters Donna and Brenda, Aunt Sandy, and all her friends in Christ, to check on their well-being and anyone who needed prayers. She then would call each person in her prayer circle to tell the gossip and ask for prayers for the sick. Her phone was her life line, regardless of the time or day, it was a must to call every number she knew until someone picked up. Her brother, Tim, would always get her going by calling her "Kackle." Kathy really enjoyed a daily walk or two, stopping and waving at each vehicle as it passed. Facing struggles, river sickness and misfortune, she was beyond brave and was very strong. She always believed and had faith saying "God will take care of me until He calls me home." She was a truly special person who will be forever be missed. You're home now, so be free and always be you. She wanted to send thanks to all her friends and brothers and sisters in Christ for being her friends. The family would to send a special thanks to Misty Ziegler, for praying with Mom and making her feel safe; Natasha Wiseman, for genuinely loving Kathy and brushing her hair; Amanda Leggett, for protecting Kathy; Charlotte Williamson, for being with her and comforting her on that day; and thanks to rest of the Genesis staff for caring and adoring our wife, mother, sister, and Mamaw. The family is forever grateful. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, West Union with Pastor Bob Swiger officiating. Interment will follow at Union Mission Cemetery, New Milton, WV. The family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
