Mr. James Calvin Weekley

Obituary-West Union-James Calvin Weekley Sr. 81 of New Milton departed this life on April 1, 2022 at his residence. He was born on March 30, 1941 at Wilbur a son of the late Carl and Nora Wells Weekley. On May 24, 1968 he married Connie Jo Nicholson Weekley who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James Calvin Weekley Jr., Fairmont, Timothy Carl Weekley, New Milton, grandchildren, Branden and Colten Weekley, Bryon Welch, Trevor "Bear" Hurst and Steven Hurst, seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Hilda Colton, Seal Beach, CA, Wanda Tennant, Shirley, one brother, Clifford "Tip" Weekley, West Union and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Carroll, three brothers, Keith, Cleston and Walter Weekley. Mr. Weekley was retired from Clarksburg Casket Company with 30 years as a mill worker. He had also worked at the Doddridge County Senior Citizens for many years. Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Viet Nam era. He attended the West Union Church of Christ. Jim was a member of Friendship Lodge #56 AF & AM where he had served as Past Master. Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home Front St. West Union on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with Joey Sutton presiding. Interment will be in the W.V. National Cemetery, Pruntytown. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Expression of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.spurgeonfunerals.com.
