Mr. Charles Evans Maxson

September 26, 1930 - April 14, 2022

Obituary-West Union-Charles E. Maxson, 91, of West Union departed this life on Thursday, April 14, 2022 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. He was born on September 26, 1930 in Ritchie County a son of the late Lawrence Glenn and Georgia Gay Britton Maxson. Surviving is one son, Gregory Maxson, Decatur, GA. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Booher and Adelene Spiker. Mr. Maxson was retired from Equitable Gas Company and was over maintenance of the Compressor Stations. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Messenger presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 until time of service.
