Arthur "Art" Dotson

May 19, 1935 - January 22, 2015

Arthur "Art" Dotson 79 of Church St. West Union went home to heaven on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. He was born on May 19, 1935 at Puritan Mines, Mingo County, WV, a son of the late Arthur and Mary Louise Hignite Dotson. July 2, 1960 he married Emma Jo Eastes Dotson who survives. Surviving is one daughter LuEmma Beth Hoskinson and husband Shell, of Clarksburg, one son Arthur Thomas Dotson and wife Sandi, of Winter Haven, Fl, grandchildren, EmmaLee Hoskinson, ElizaBeth Gross, Simon Hoskinson, Shellby Leonard and husband Tyler, Amethyst, Malachi, Andrea, Zachariah, Matthew, Johnathan, Christopher, Timothy, Sylvia, Branden and Alivia Hoskinson, Alice Plauagher and husband Ray, Ryan Miller and wife Laura, great grandchildren, JadeLynn and Emerson Gross, Alicia, Logan and Hannah Plaugher, Nora and Henry Miller, sisters, Joann Dotson Brumfield, Huntington, Diann Dotson Copley, Debarton, brothers, James Clifford Dotson, Columbus, OH, Darrold Thomas Dotson, New Brunswick, Canada and several nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Irene Dotson Accord, Patty Dotson and Ima Jean Dotson Massey preceded him in death. Art was retired from the Ford Motor Company as a repairman with 32 years service. He attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict. Art enjoyed gardening, house restoration, model trains and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00AM with Pastor David McCauley presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2-6PM.
